Communication settings

In Matrox Design Assistant, you can control whether certain types of communication are online or offline. For information on how this affects your Matrox Design Assistant project, see the Going offline subsection of the Communications dropdown panel section earlier in this chapter. During runtime, this can be done in 2 ways:

  • Using an action associated with an operator view button.

  • Using the CommSettings step.

Communication settings action (operator view button)

To set one or many communication channels online or offline using the operator view, you must add a button to the operator view. For information on how to do this, see the Adding an element subsection of the Elements section in Chapter 50: Customizing the operator view. Then, from the MANAGE ACTIONS page, enable the Communication Settings checkbox. This allows you to configure how each communication channel will be set when the button is pressed. As shown in the image below, you can set each communication channel Online, Offline, or Unchanged.

CommSettings step

The CommSettings step allows you to perform the same operations as the operator view action, but through a step in the flowchart. Once you have added the step to the flowchart, you can configure the settings for each communication channel, as displayed in the image below.
