ProjectSwitcher step overview

The ProjectSwitcher step stops the currently running project and starts another project on your runtime platform. Changing projects can take several minutes if the project being loaded is even moderately complex. All industrial communication connections will be lost when the current project is stopped. In most cases where you might want to switch to a new project (for example, inspecting variations on a product with the same camera), switching to a new recipe is a better solution. For more information, see the Strategies for inspecting product variants section in Chapter 54: Switching products to inspect.

Using the ProjectSwitcher step

In the ProjectSwitcher step, set the type in or select the name of the project that you need to switch to in the ProjectName input.
