Matrox to Showcase Remote Graphics Technology for Emergency Dispatch at the 75th APCO Annual Conference and Exposition
Matrox Graphics, the leading manufacturer of specialized graphics solutions, will demonstrate the Extio™ F1400 multi-display remote graphics unit (RGU) for public safety communications and emergency dispatch applications at the 75th International APCO Conference and Exposition Diamond Anniversary.
Extio will be displayed on an AFC Industries ergonomic, height-adjustable console for command and control environments.
Sunday, August 16th – Wednesday, August 19th, 2009.
Las Vegas Convention Center
The Matrox Extio F1400 multi-display RGU enables the extension of up to four displays, audio and six USB devices by up to 250 meters (820 feet) of fiber-optic cable. In addition, the Extio F1400 features passive (fanless) cooling and PCI Express technology, which makes it an ideal solution for professional and mission critical applications requiring a reliable graphics and I/O extension solution. By separating the computer from the monitors and user-interface components, the Extio Series helps address issues such as security, heat, noise, system maintenance, and support in high-reliability computing environments.
"The ability to separate each CAD workstation from the operator consoles by a single fiber-optic cable, as well as the advanced multi-display support and image quality made possible with this device, were key factors in determining our selection of this technology. The Extio F1400 RGUs have helped us to meet one of our goals for this 24/7 operation—to design a more comfortable work environment within which to maximize productivity."
Roger Waller, CAD Systems Manager, Technology Specialist, Arlington County Office of Emergency Management – Public Safety Emergency Communications Center
"The Matrox Extio fiber-optic extension technology was by far the best choice for Central 112 de Cantabria. It was exactly the solution we were looking for—capable of distancing the PC equipment from the operator console, running completely silently, and not generating heat."
Hernández Álvarez, Regional Manager for Andalucia and APD, Algorithms, Designs and Processes – The Central Emergency 112 de Cantabria in Northern Spain.
